    Arizona News – Yavapai Regional Medical Center proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Marylou Mercado to its Hospital Board. Dr. Mercado brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education and community empowerment to her new role. A first-generation Hispanic community college graduate, Dr. Mercado currently serves as the Vice President of Workforce and Health Sciences at Yavapai College. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Dr. Mercado has been deeply committed to empowering individuals through education.

    Dr. Mercado’s 28-year tenure in the community college environment and having received the 2024 Arizona Women in Higher Education (AWHE) Woman of the Year award, has equipped her with understanding and supporting the leadership qualities and abilities of women. Drawing from her own experiences, she recognizes the importance of mentorship and guidance in helping individuals achieve their educational and professional goals.

    Dr. Mercado’s appointment to the Yavapai Regional Hospital Board will be effective April 1st. We look forward to having her on the Hospital board and the meaningful contributions she will bring.
