    Yavapai College and Community Partners to Host Pathways to Careers Day

    Clarkdale, Arizona (Sep. 8, 2025) – Yavapai College, the Sedona Arizona Community Foundation and the Valley Academy for Career and Technology Education (VACTE) are inviting middle and high school students and adults to the Pathways to Careers Exploratory Day to learn about educational opportunities in career and technical areas, meet industry experts, and hear about local and statewide career opportunities.
    Pathways to Careers Exploratory Day is a free event that will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wed. Sep. 24 at the Yavapai College Verde Valley campus, located at 601 W. Black Hills Dr. in Clarkdale. The event is sponsored by APS.
    “Exploring careers in the trades and health sciences unlocks rewarding job opportunities and empowers our Verde Valley community,” said Heather Mulcaire, Associate Dean of the Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus. “We are thrilled to offer these programs, equipping students with essential skills that pave the way for successful and meaningful careers.”
    Attendees will tour programs and laboratory spaces to allow prospective students to better understand what a college classroom experience will be like. The Sedona Arizona Community Foundation and LISA (Low Income Student Aid) will connect with students and families to educate them on scholarships and special programs that can provide financial support with covering the cost of tuition.
    Attendees learn about the following academic areas:
    • Allied Health
    • Phlebotomy
    • Cosmetology (VACTE only)
    • Educator Professions (VACTE only)
    • Fire Science
    • Law Enforcement
    • Nursing
    • Residential Construction
    • Residential Electrician
    • Residential HVAC
    • Residential Plumbing
    • Viticulture & Enology* (* 21 yrs old +)
    All students attending will be entered to win a variety of electronics. Registration is required and can be completed online at www.yc.edu/pathways2025.
