Sedona AZ (September 24, 2013) – As momentum builds for Sedona’s first week-long World Peace Dance celebration, area residents are invited to attend an Open House on Saturday, Sept. 28 at a Sedona location.The Sedona World Peace Dance Celebration will be a week-long destination event beginning with a keynote speech by peace activist John Dear, S.J, on Sunday, Feb. 2. A series of pertinent workshops will then be held during the week, with the World Peace Dance celebration culminating in the three part World Peace Dance performance on Saturday, Feb. 7 in the new year.
According to World Peace Dance coordinator Elaine Hanson, several key positions in the organization are still open. These include board positions as well as manager slots in music, sales, and book-keeping, among others. All interested parties are welcome to attend the Open House which begins at 4 pm this Saturday.
Using the concept of Embodiment – bringing physical expression of commitment to peace through modern dance — Hanson invites area dancers and all interested in the peace movement to attend.
