    Verde Valley AZ (October 9, 2013) – Homes for our troops recently joined with the communities of the Verde Valley in breaking ground for the construction of a new home for US Marine Sgt Jordan Maynard, his wife Jennifer and their son, Jay in Cornville, AZ. A national non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops is dedicated to building specially adapted, no-cost homes for severely injured veterans. Only through generous donations and fundraisers, can the organization continue to build these much needed homes. Sgt Maynard was severely injured in Afghanistan on March 23, 2011 and has spent the last two years recovering at the Army’s Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland.

    Ticket Price: $10 wine tasting (4) and specialty appetizers from Vintages Grille includes admission to the silent auction featuring works of art (originals) from Verde Valley artists and eligibility to win prizes donated by local businesses. Tickets can be purchased at Vintages Grille, and sign up for the event is at Vintages’ facebook event page, www.facebook.com/Vintages.Grille/events Tickets purchased before October 16th also receive three free raffle tickets for the drawing.

    Homes for Our Troops is a national non-profit, non-partisan 501c(3) organization based in Tauntan, Massachusetts and was founded in 2004. Their web address is www.hfotusa.org. All specially adapted homes are built at no cost to the veteran thanks to the heartfelt generosity of thousands of individuals, foundation grants, corporate sponsors, professional trades people and of course, countless volunteers who work tirelessly to see each of these homes built.

    John Maddox of Rimrock, himself a disabled Vietnam veteran and “go to person” for this fundraiser praised Kathy Chambers and her staff at Vintages Grille for their support of this event.
