Sedona News – Join the Sedona Camera Club for a presentation by professional photographer/videographer Dano Grayson.   The meeting starts at 6:00 pm on Monday,  January 27, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, 25 Chapel Road, Sedona.  Doors open at 5:30.

Dano (Daniel) Grayson’s “When Science and Art Collide” is a comprehensive presentation showing the use of scientific methods and photography to catalog the behaviors of animals found near and far. Dano has spent a lifetime getting close to nature and having worked on projects with the government of Peru, San Diego Zoo, and USGS, the BBC, National Geographic and many others. He has been allowed access to some of the world’s most wild places. The pictures Dano will show during this presentation are a catalog of adventure travel and science.  He hopes to show the world the beauty of biodiversity through the use of his noninvasive photography methods.

Grayson has spent his life chasing childhood dreams of wildlife adventures.  Always a dreamer, Dano followed a less conventional path or took the scenic route (as he’d call it) to becoming a wildlife photographer.  Over the last 20 years he has traveled far and wide as a wildlife researcher, eventually trading the calipers for a camera and focusing on capturing the science he was researching. His work has appeared all over the world, showcased by notable groups such as National Geographic and the BBC, Netflix, Disney and many others.

When not exploring the rainforest, Dano owns and operates wildlife photography sites in Southern Arizona built and designed to make ease of photographing the beauty and biodiversity of our amazing desert.

Presentations, hosted by the Sedona Camera Club, are free to members.  There is a $5 fee for guests.  Local photographers are encouraged to join to support bringing high-quality speakers to promote interest in photography and develop photographic skills.  Membership costs $35 for the whole year.  For more information on the Sedona Camera Club, go to sedonacamera.club.
