Sedona News – The Village Rotary is pleased to announce its annual Rotary Community Garden Plant Sale & Open House, taking place on May 4th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Community Garden, accessible in the Village of Oak Creek via Verde Valley School Road. Led by Robert Wright, the Garden Committee ,with cooperation from AZ Milkweeds for Monarchs, plans a great open house.
Now in its fourth year, the Rotary Community Garden continues to thrive under the stewardship of Village Rotarians. With 24 garden beds, 17 leased to local gardeners and 7 tended by Rotarians, the garden remains a vital source of fresh produce for local food banks. The garden is committed to organic, non-GMO practices, featuring a Monarch Butterfly Milkweed plant section and a new beehive to support pollination.
The Plant Sale will offer a variety of heirloom plants, including tomatoes, squash, beans, and peppers. Verde Valley honey will also be available for purchase.
“Backyard Beekeeping 101” will be a special presentation by Cindy Mahon at 10 am. This class provides a unique opportunity to explore the art of beekeeping and gain the knowledge needed to embark on your backyard apiary adventure. Join us and become part of the vital effort to support these essential pollinators and promote environmental well-being!
Join Rotarians on May 4th as we celebrate the bounty of the earth and the spirit of community at the Rotary Community Garden Plant Sale & Open House. Together, let’s sow the seeds of a brighter, greener future.
