    Uptown Traffic Control Plan Scheduled for Presidents’ Day Weekend February 13th and 14th

    City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (February 8, 2016) – The Sedona Police Department and City Engineering Services will be implementing a traffic control plan over Presidents’ Day Weekend. City personnel will temporarily set up an additional southbound lane from Amara Lane to Forest Road. As traffic conditions become heavy, the second southbound lane on N. State Route 89A will be opened for vehicle travel. The activation of the second southbound lane will cause closure of the northbound left turn lane onto Jordan Road and left turns will be restricted from southbound Jordan Road.

    Motorists needing access to areas adjacent to Jordan Road during the control plan can either turn onto Forest Road or Apple Avenue. Message boards will be will be in place on N. State Route 89A to inform motorists of the additional southbound lane, the turn lane closure and business access information. The traffic control plan is scheduled to occur each day around 2:00 PM and conclude when traffic conditions subside to lighter flows.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
