Sedona News – The University Women of Sedona (UWoS) will host their annual Holiday Boutique Scholarship Silent Auction on Monday, December 2 at 9:30 a.m.

This University Women’s holiday tradition will feature a silent auction of many wonderful new and pre-owned items, along with homemade seasonal goodies available to the highest bidders. Items to bid on will include art, jewelry, clothing, home decorations and baked goods. Members and non-members are welcome to participate in this fun event and share in the holiday spirit.

Participants will enjoy delicious sparking refreshments and seasonal goodies while viewing the auction items.

Guests are invited to meet members, learn more about University Women of Sedona, and enjoy the planned fun and entertainment, all while raising funds for the organizations’ scholarship recipients for the year.

The UWoS program committee will also lead holiday games designed to get members and guests to know each other better.

During the auction there will be entertainment by “Plan B”, a four part a cappella singing group. Comprised of UWoS member Sharon Madison, and her colleagues Nancy Martin, Linda Patterson, and Deb Stein, the group came together hoping that the “plan” might work, and six years later they continue to make beautiful music together. Their short program will showcase holiday favorites to help set a festive mood.

This meeting is open to women in the Verde Valley who are interested in this topic and the opportunity to network with other women who are involved in elevating women through education, and are invited to attend this or a future meeting. University Women of Sedona’s mission is to give scholarships to support women in furthering their educational opportunities to an accredited local college or university. Refreshments are always served.

The Sedona chapter meets on the first Monday of every month at 9:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church of Sedona at 25 Chapel Road. For more information, contact universitywmnsedona@gmail.com.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
