logo_UniversityWomenOfSedonaSedona AZ (October 23, 2017) – The University Women of Sedona will meet Monday, November 6 at Christ Lutheran Church, 25 Chapel Road, Sedona.

Katie Lee, a local icon, will share highlights of her colorful life as a “Colorado River Rat” as well as aspects of her other careers.   She worked in film and radio in Hollywood for six years before she was inspired to make a significant change.   A movie about the Colorado River altered her life forever.   As a result, she worked on float trips down the Colorado River, playing guitar and singing for the river adventurers.

In 1971 Ms Lee settled in Jerome where she continues to write and listen to her music.  “Rapids Ahead” is recognized as her song.

    Ode to Sleeplessness

    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

I sleep well most nights. This is something relatively new for me. For many years, I was a raging insomniac. I didn’t sleep well last night and found myself meditating around 4am, not so much to get to sleep but for something to pass the time.
