logo_UniversityWomenOfSedonaSedona AZ (March 20, 2018) – The University Women of Sedona will hold their monthly meeting Monday, April 2 at Christ Lutheran Church, 25 Chapel Road, Sedona.

Louisa Jaskulski, RVT, will share her experiences as a rescuer of neglected and abused birds. Like many people, she is drawn to the beauty, intelligence and playfulness of birds. With a strong desire to help, Ms. Jaskulski develops a special connection with angry, fearful and traumatized parrots, budgies and macaws. She believes humans have to earn each bird’s respect and trust. After years of experience getting cautious birds to trust her it’s obvious she possesses a unique ability to connect with special needs birds.

The University Women meet the first Monday of each month, October through May. Members and visitors are invited to come at 9:30 to socialize and share books. A special presentation, and a brief business meeting follow.

Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
