A “hypothetical” canonization of Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, ie. Saint Budde would remind us that the Spirit still moves among us, raising up leaders who dare to speak with the authority of heaven and the urgency of now.
Truth to Power – Who among us has such courage? Who will speak out when we feel our country, our world, our souls are being torn asunder by ruthless and raw political vengance and selfish indulgence. Sure, 77 million Americans voted for a massive change in the American society and culture, but we can’t let this be a reversal of time to a period of unbridled, selfishness, racism, elitism, and cultural depravity.
We can all embrace a “Saint Budde” as the example we should have the internal courage to emulate.

A conservative student group with ties to white supremacy is promoting an event on Arizona State University’s campus encouraging classmates to report their peers to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The group, College Republicans United, indicated on social media the event is scheduled for Jan. 31. A post from the student group on X read: “We will be tabling on campus asking fellow students to report their criminal classmates to ICE for deportation.” The post went on to share a tip form created by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the federal agency responsible for carrying out President Donald Trump’s pledge to massively increase immigration enforcement efforts.
