Camp Verde News – On August 6th, 2024, at approximately 2121 hours a traffic stop was conducted on a Ford Pickup along State Route 260 in Camp Verde for a minor equipment violation.  During the traffic stop, the Deputy noticed nervous behavior by the driver, later identified as Robert Morley of Phoenix. The Deputy then asked for consent to search his vehicle.

Robert granted consent but made a statement of knowing he was going to jail because there was something illegal in the vehicle. Robert then advised that he had Gamma – hydroxybutyrate (GHB) also known as the date rape drug. Deputies located approximately 60 oz. of GHB in his vehicle.

After speaking further with Robert, he advised more drugs were in his hotel room. Deputies located over 1 pound of Methamphetamine, more GHB, along with drug paraphernalia in the hotel room.

Robert was later booked into the Yavapai County Jail on multiple felonies. Due to the large amount of drugs located, Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) were contacted for assistance with this case.

If you have any information on narcotics activity in your area and would like to report it, please contact the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office by calling our non-emergency number 928-554-8300.
