    … was indeed a great day and even better, still here today … life is grand! Low single digit winds were forecast for the Lake Pleasant area, but we were greeted with mid+ double digit winds which made for a rather slow and wet ride across the lake. It was a day that we were finding the birds in protected bays and on the lee side of islands and peninsulas.

    Heading back to the west side of the lake we turned into the lee side of the different bays as we worked our way back and as we turned into one of them, I spotted a bald eagle on the shore, and he had a meal in his talons that had just been caught. He retreated up from the shoreline and as you can see, he has an American Coot in his talons. … we got some great shots before leaving him to finish his meal.

    The ducks were very spooky, and we had trouble getting close to them … think it was the winds as even birds that typically let us get close spooked before we were close. We did get some nice shots like the one below which features four ringneck ducks and one redhead.

    Some bad weather coming in Thursday … be good days to do some work on the boat and that is fun too.

    Get you tickets for the February 7th 4:00PM show American Kestrel in Love at the Mary Fisher Theater. This is to fund raise for International Raptor and Falconry Center. We will have at least four falcons and hawks and you will be able to interact with them … hope you will make it!

    Into another day … lots of photo work on tap and maybe some fun working on the boat … I really need to paint the name on it … “Knot Yacht.” Smile and greet everyone with a smile!

    I bring but this one common thought
    My life has wrought;
    That from the dregs of drear despair
    Still everywhere
    Ther is a joy I yet may sip—
    “Tis comradeship
    With all mankind, the high and low
    I know.

    It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

    Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
