… a male Wood Duck is incoming for a landing at the4 ponds in Page Spring … he has his landing point picked out and is on “short final” as he adjusts his glide path so he hits the mark … upright with webbed feet acting as his landing gear for initial contact before retracting them and lowering his breast into the water.
In the shot below a Woodie is making crucial adjustments to his flight path in order to hit his spot.
This weekend was some of the best Wood Duck shooting I have had … more to come methinks!
Have a beautiful day … spend a few hours today at the ponds or whatever wetland area is near to you and admire the way other creatures on earth spend their time whilst here … that is a very important part of life … smile, keep breathing and be kind!
Cheers,
Ted
Come you who are weary, and sit in the shadow
of my faith; and when you are rested we shall
journey together, singing gleefully on the highway,
lending many a hand, yet passing ever on and on; and
at nightfall, tired and content, we shall light the candles
in the house of love, thank God in cheerful words, and
lie down to peaceful sleep.
