… a beautiful day on the lake and with the additional eight feet of water in the lake there were many more opportunities to explore the shallow depths (less than 15″ of water) that are located more than a mile further inland from last weeks shorelines … and to enjoy comfortable depths where last week it was iffy.

Some treats today with large numbers of the American White Pelican on the water. This bird is one of the largest birds in North America with wingspans up to nine and half feet and weighing up to about thirty pounds and they live well into their 20’s. They are currently migrating back north from their wintering grounds along the gulf coast … absolutely amazing to see them up close and in flight and now in their breeding plumage.

Below is an Osprey, leaving his perch on a dead tree in the water … when they first leave their perch, they flatten out their feet and kinda retract their talons … probably to make sure they do not snag the perch whilst trying to leave it.

Eric was in a mood today telling me that some of my off the wall shots were nice, but would never sell … so tomorrow, I will post one of them for sale for $50.00 … I have to make a profit on it and if it sells he owes me $10.00. If it doesn’t sell, I owe him $10.00. Stay tuned for a really good deal tomorrow.

Long, long day and time to wrap it. Have a beautiful day and smile … you are here!

    Cheers,

    Ted
