    Healing Paws

    By Ted Grussing

… kind of a strange evening, working on stones, paging through photographs and beginning another purge of the portfolio … trying to decide what to work on and then I just started messing around with different images and came up with this … I do not drink, I do not do drugs, in case you’re wondering, but I do allow my mind to wander and dream of things that have been and things that may be. I shot the stumps down at the ponds a few days ago; they have cut down most of the willows and cottonwood trees as they have been invading and blocking the water lines that are used to fill the ponds and some of the lines were down to a mere trickle. Trees can be pretty aggressive life forms and what better place to assure a constant source of water than to take over the water lines … the stuff of science fiction.

I flew today and I also saw some ducks, so they were added to the mix and One is ever present in my life and overlooking creation … the galaxy center lit up the grass shoots by the tree stumps … so this is what happens when I start messing around with images and have no clear purpose in mind … anyhow I kinda like it.

Try roasting your own coffee … best deal around, you save money and have the freshest and most perfectly roasted beans you can imagine. Check out www.burmancoffee.com  and give Jon a call. I’ve been roasting my own for about eight years and could never go back to store or specialty coffee.

A nice weekend and looking forward to a great week … for sure it will start off in not that many hours discovering that I am still here (hope springs eternal), a smile knowing that the day will be good and five shots or more of espresso to ensure that it will be so.

    Cheers

    Ted

So each one to his wish, and as for me,
    I sit tonight and wait
To find the answers to my soul in me,
And in the beauty of the sky and sea.

City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal
    By Tommy Acosta
The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
