… I have a huge number of raptor shots that I absolutely love and here are two of them that have consistently been on my walls at home.

The shot above is one of Leroy, a Harris’s Hawk as he is cranking and banking coming around a juniper tree on the plains north of Flagstaff during a photo shoot with Michele and a few friends who came along with me. Michele and I are doing a show at the Mary Fisher Theater in Sedona on February 7th, 2024, at 4PM. Leroy will be there along with three other raptors and the show will focus heavily on the birds and you will get to be up-close and personal with Leroy and the others. Learn more about these awesome birds.

The shot below is an absolute favorite of mine … an Osprey has just nailed a beautiful rainbow trout and is flying directly at me … maybe thirty feet and his eyes are locked on to me … I think he is wondering if he could sink his free talons into me on the way by and really get a meal 🙂 A human equivalent would probably be a photo of someone in the grocery store picking out a fresh trout from the meat counter … or in the natural world a fisherman with a fly rod catching a nice trout. Food is a necessity for all creatures … we are the only ones who rely on others to collect and distribute our food.

Into the Christmas weekend … wishing you all the blessings and joys of Christmas and I’ll be back Christmas morning with the Christmas edition. Smile and keep breathing.

    WITH JOY,

    Ted

A bird flies through the sky, and I fly with it. I am in
each pearl of moisture sparkling in the sun. I lie lazy
on the clouds. And I acknowledge my kinship with
    each winged thing.

I see all as one, and nothing repels me, as this new
day climbs noiselessly out of the valley of night.

Peace lies over the world and over the world of my soul.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
