… for us going fishing or hunting is less a food gathering exercise than it is a sport, but for those creatures we see in nature it is survival and essential to life itself … each species has a part in creating a balance in nature … in some areas when the apex predators have been removed, the species they have kept in check explode and the natural order is disrupted.

Probably no more dramatic restoration of the natural order was the re-introduction of wolves to Yellowstone Park in 1995.This video is only four and a half minutes long and worth the time to view it. It has 44M views and if you want more detailed videos there are a lot of them … this one is concise … look at others after this one.

The photo above is a Great Blue Heron emerging from the water after a dive after a fish … he missed. Below is a photo of another one that did not miss … life goes on. The Great Blue is one of my favorite birds. I love the way they can just stand in the water for an hour or more waiting for a fish to swim nearby and then strike when one does swim near.

Into the weekend … have a joyous day tomorrow and choose the same each day thereafter … something special about being here with family and friends and all the events of each day.

Smile, keep breathing and be kind.

It seems to say, “Patience, work, gentleness,” and I
