… there is such beauty in life and in every life form … in the photo above an egret is taking off from the rock in the lower left corner of the photograph and it is about ten feet above the water level. The egrets’ legs are done giving the initial force to lift him into flight and the wings are being forced downward to keep the initial momentum going … the curvature of the wings and the positioning of every feather has purpose … and we get to witness this beauty whenever we take the time to do so.

Below is a donkey making tracks on the side of a hill that rises from the lake and it looks like a well-used trail … they’ve been showing off quite a bit the last few weeks and are always fun to watch as they go about their daily lives. The donkeys have been here for about 400 years now, yet they are still deemed an invasive species … perhaps time to accept them into the ranks as native to our land. Donkeys can live into their forties and on occasion longer … makes my day every time I see them.

Down to the lake in the early morning hours tomorrow and we’ll be looking for more of the same … always looking for the perfect shot and once had, the quest for a better shot goes on.

Wednesday mornings missive will have some shots of the artwork created by nature in the red rock cliffs I look at while trying to get shots of the red tail hawks in their nest in the cliff 150′ above the ground. It still looks like there are no chicks hatched so it is pretty quiet in there.

Have a beautiful day, keep breathing and smile … be kind!

    Cheers,

    Ted

O SWEET content! where is thy mild abode
Where I may dwell in endless peace?
    Show me the much-sought road
    And give the lease.

he answer came, “Then cease to vainly roam
In search of me, for thou wilt find
    My quiet, hidden home
    Within thy mind.”

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
