… the seemingly never ending battle to reduce photos in my portfolio is ongoing, but shots like this are on the save list … I’ve gone through almost all of them this year and now I have started through them again and am ruthlessly deleting photos and in some cases deleting entire folders of images … about a thousand images in the last week … about ten thousand to go.

The Great Blue Heron above was part of a feeding frenzy that was going on … maybe five or six dozen herons and a couple of dozen Great Egrets, plus Cormorants and many others all in on wiping out a large school of bait fish near the surface … a feast! The Great Egret below was wheeling in for another shot at the fish … it was a good day for them and also for me and my friend as we came away with a couple thousand photos of the event (now down to about one hundred.)

Anytime you see a name or words in magenta clicking on that word(s) will bring you to a website that will give you more information on the subject … they are all safe sites to visit.

Down to Phoenix and lunch with a friend at T Cook’s restaurant at the Royal Palms Resort, tomorrow … my favorite place … check it out. In Sedona it is Hideaway Restaurant, and Senor Bob’s.

I am including the entirety of Max’s The Last Prayer below. On of my favorites!

Have a beautiful day … choose to enjoy it, smile and keep breathing … Christmas is here!

I am weary lying here so long. Many things that
once I thought important do not seem so now. If
this is the end of earth for me, I pray I shall have a
last conscious moment, in which I may gladly remember
that, in the days of my strength, I had had the
courage now and then to raise my voice for the right
as I saw it; that amid the struggles for the necessities
of existence I had had time to record a few moments
of spiritual ecstasy; and that in the stern ways of life
I had known a little of the tenderness of a woman’s love.
May these things abide with me; and if in the infinite
universe I retain aught of my earthly self, may they
remind me that in my feeble way I was one who tried—
a lovely memory out of the beautiful earth. Then
closing my eyes—consciousness slowly dwindling like
a day that is spent—let me fall quietly asleep, a tired
    child at sundown. Peace.
