    … as this green head mallard rises from a very shallow and muddy pond his shadow is dropping away as he rises … in the moment we have a nearly perfect reflection in the water which was quite still. Shot with the Canon 1DX which after nearly eight years is still one of my favorite camera bodies. This was taken down at Bubbling Ponds hatchery in Page Springs in one of the recently drained ponds.

    A busy and productive day today … and one of those days you are just happy to be here … the not sure why, but glad you are here kinda day.

    I have been remiss in not getting out the link to comment on the Four Forest Restoration Initiative update … public comment closes on the 17th of this month. Please take the time to give them your input: https://cara.ecosystem-management.org/Public/CommentInput?project=48210 The relevant information is located at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/4fri/planning/?cid=stelprd3837085 . Smoke is not healthy in any amount and the toxicity of smoke from burns is exceptionally harmful to humans and animals. In addition to that the burns that they do, do not substantially reduce the fuel loading in the overall forest. Areas near populated areas are being burned every two or three years to help protect communities … not natural, but in some respects protects people and property.

    Time to wrap the day … espresso in mere hours 🙂

    Share your joy and enjoy the moment … it is all we have.

    Cheers

    Impose upon yourself the task of happiness;
    And now and then abandon yourself
    To the joy of laughter.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

    One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
