    … it was a very neat day, especially because I am under no deadlines for a few days … a relaxed day, picked up a few prints and delivered them to be framed and late afternoon it was off to Bubbling Ponds Fish Hatchery in Page Springs with a friend. This was our first time down there in a very long time … and there were some birds to shoot. My focus was primarily on Red Wing Blackbirds and Grackles, both of which I enjoy viewing and have so since I was a kid.

    The photo above was a portion of a much larger flock and the lighting was exceptional … easy viewing for a very long time with the fall colors a welcome background for the shot.

    Below is a shot of a Grackle that I took and it was near the end of a long sequence … I began tracking and shooting him on the far side of the pond as he flew towards us and then he flared for a landing within 20 feet of us. Flaring … air brakes out and gear down and ready to stick the landing … and he did!

    Quiet evening and now time to wrap the day. Enjoy the evening and may your new day bring joy into your life and display as smile on your face.

    Cheers,

    Ted

    Give me to gladly go my way
    And say
    No word of mine own woe;
    But let me smile each day.
