… it was a beautiful morning on the lake yesterday and new navigational challenges as the lake is down over ten feet from our last outing a few weeks ago … islands are appearing and some very shallow areas which are soon to be new islands add challenges to my beautiful new propellor which is showing off the abrasion and sanding qualities of the interaction with sand and rocks in less than a foot of water … far from shore! It will be replaced at years end with a shiny new one 🙂

We launched before the sun came up over the mountains and headed over to the east side. We encountered the above Green Heron perched in a newly emerged tree as the golden morning light came up over the mountain ridge.

Below are two shots of an adult Bald Eagle taking off from a cliff wall and were taken a tenth of a second apart. When you look at the top shot of the eagle closely you can kind of see the similarity between them and other animals and we humans … the body and the extended legs below and the wings (or arms) stretched out above … about six and a half feet of wingspan. Anyhow I like them and hope you enjoy these magnificent creatures too.

I spoke with Pat at the Sedona Film Festival which operates the Mary D Fisher and Alice Gill-Sheldon theaters yesterday, and we set the date for my next show for October 27th, 2024, at 3:30PM in the Alice Gill-Sheldon theater. This is the smaller theater, but the experience is much more personal and enjoyable than the big theater … because it is smaller we may add a second date

Look for an eight-page spread of creatures with wings in Sedona Monthly magazine before the end of the year … working on it now!

Into the weekend again … enjoy it with friends and family … love the day you are in as it all we ever have! Smile, keep breathing and be kind.

O WORLD of green and shafts of golden sun; of
nightly, silver moonlight; and the strange
songs of lisping winds! O time of dreams, and trysts,
and olden memories come to life! Sweet summer, may
I sing as thou, for every leaf of thine is pregnant with
music in the soft winds, and every rose inspires the
tenderness of song. I yield myself to the thousand
enchantments of sky and field and wood, and play again
like a child on the soft green of the earth. And as the
God of the universe has made thee to bloom in tenderness,
so also may my heart be softened, and the
gardens of my life be made to bloom again.
