    … it was a good day today … spent the morning getting issues resolved in the security system with the help of a very knowledgeable tech from ADT and it continues functioning like brand new. Kinda fun being back on a ladder working on devices attached to the ten foot ceiling.

    With success like I had all morning, I decided to spend the afternoon roasting coffee and watching life go by on the golf course … lots of wildlife could have shown up too and it was sunny and warmish in the sun. Katie got out when I was carrying the coffee roaster out and a few minutes of excitement followed. Got about four pounds roasted and I did a blend of five different coffee beans … left over from single source bags of coffee beans … we’ll see how it tastes in the morning.

    I’ve been watching old movies the last few nights and it is love how good they are, no dependency on special effects and violence for their attractions. I watched Pretty Woman last night and Notting Hill tonight. They have great storylines and fabulous acting. Be nice if more movies would emulate these examples. Going to watch the newest version of a Star is Born tomorrow night. I’ve seen the previous two and looking forward to the Lady Gaga version.

    The shot above is of a young bobcat emerging from the arroyo and the gulls below were cruising the coastline in northern California. Viewing and learning about other life forms we share the planet with gives me a satisfaction that leads to the good life and life lessons. Nice knowing that all these creatures are here with us … we are not alone.

    Spare me from wont of common need,
    And give a share of manly health,
    A few good friends of honest deed;

    And till death’s peaceful slumber nears
    A life of undishonored years.

    It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

    Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
