… I’m almost a little embarrassed with a title like this, but with image selections like I have tonight, it struck me as a little funny and so the loopy loony caption.

It took me a little while to figure out where I was in the aerial shot as it is not an airscape I normally would shoot and in fact I like it a lot. I am near SR89A south of the Lower Loop Road and looking towards the ENE. The road running along the bottom of the image from the lower left corner and upwards and to the right is the Lower Loop Road and the community at the very bottom of the photo is Elmersville. Oak Creek meanders through he photo roughly on a diagonal from mid to upper left to lower right. Through the gap upper right quadrant is the Village of Oak Creek and you can see both golf courses. The right side of the image is dominated by House Mountain, that big beautiful shield volcano from about 13 million years ago and which was once a part of the rim … the rim has receded about four miles over time.

The clouds were magnificent and gave me ample reason to fly the cloud canyons. Then there is the loon I found on Lake Pleasant this year. Nothing quite like being eye level with these beautiful creatures and he is in full breeding plumage. Planning on heading down to the lake again this Friday … early before the heat hits full strength. It has been about six weeks since I have been down there and looking forward to it … in the meantime there is the carpet cleaning now in progress … I enjoy doing the cleaning because you get immediate feedback on a job well done.

Into the new week and it shall be a good one … plans to make, friends to see and life to be lived. Smile, keep breathing and share the joy in your life with others.

    Cheers,

The strange philosophies the mobs confess
That every throat cry out some new demand.

Time was when men held saner counsel here.
Will that time come again? Shall we behold
From this grim madness some new love unfold?
We pray fr gentler times, when men shall cease
His brother man to bully or fear.
Great God, among ourselves let us have peace!

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
