    … I had the good fortune to see  a number of Western Tiger Swallow Tail butterflies feeding on a neighbors Bird of Paradise bushes this morning … 270 shots later I continued my walk and having fun going through the photos this evening. I’ll eventually get the number down to about 15. I especially enjoy this shot where two of them were on neighboring blooms. The entanglement of insect limbs and flower parts make for a complicated vision of life forms coming together; one for nourishment and the other for pollination … somehow nature always seems to work without any input from us :+)

    On a good day being a human on planet earth is complicated and everywhere on the planet humans are seeking power over other human beings and doing whatever it takes to get it including the killing of others who do not agree or stand in the way of others. In the natural world it is survival of the fittest, predators dine on their prey, butterflies dine on delicate blooms and it all works out fine … it is a tough world and a tough existence, but it works, somehow it works and life is a beautiful thing if you believe it to be so … it is always perspective … how you choose to view life.

    Summer is nearing an end and my favorite time of the year is just around the corner and planning a trip to Northern Wisconsin to spend some time on the Upper Eau Clair Lake where we spent many summers … and get some photos of the fall colors and walk in the woods and listen to the crunch of leaves under my feet :+)

    The week is just getting under way … have a beautiful day

    I thought that time went sweet and soft and slow,
    And left no marks save those of gentleness
    That bound you to my life with strong caress;
    And you saw naught but all my soul’s deep truth,
    No fading bloom, nor form the years bent low,
    But ever still the beauty of my youth.

    It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

    Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
