… so we have two varieties  of the Spuria Iris and this is the Innovator one. The beauty of these blooms are absolutely amazing and it is easy to imagine getting lost in one of these flowers … did I mention that I love to shoot extreme close ups of flowers too? They have an inner world that makes it fun to dream of going down to the micro level and exploring the beauty within these and other blooms. Things to day dream on.

Today was a productive one; with the help of a friend I have the Mercury outboard engine back on Knot Yacht and did some other work on her and she is ready to launch on the first available day now. The ice maker in the freezer was fixed and it is nice to have ice cubes in my ice tea and other beverages again.

Talked with Jon at Burman Coffee and asked him to pick out five pounds of his favorite coffees and they should arrive soon. Check their coffee out at www.burmancoffee.com ; during the shutdown their business has actually picked up and if you want the best coffee experience you can have, you need to roast your own. I’ve been doing it for over ten years now and could never go back to the store bought stuff.

    The footlocker arrives Thursday!

Watched the movie “Memorial Day” tonight starring Jonathan Bennett and James Cromwell; it starts with a footlocker and develops into a very great story. Highly recommend it.

A full day coming up and methinks it shall be a very good one … hoping the same for you. Beauty is everywhere so take the time to look for it. We always find what we seek, so it might as well be beauty … in nature and in people.

    Ted

I caress the good tasting earth … lie upon it for hours,
my body at full length. I converse with it; and the
language is more articulate than the language of men.
It is my mother, and the mother of my sisters and
brothers, the grass and the trees, and all breathing and
breathless living things … the great mother
    ever pregnant!

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
