… I spent a while outside this morning while roasting a couple of pounds of coffee and did some shooting of the birds in the trees and greenery of the tee box and environs. I also switched back to my Canon L series 100-500 lens which is more than enough for anything close to the deck.

In the top photo a Western Bluebird is hunting for food and spies an insect of some kind in the grass he is standing in and in the next frame he snapped his head and body down to get it and he got it … so neat the way things work in nature.

Below are a couple of crows that perched in a pine tree on the tee box … they were searching for a Coopers Hawk that was calling from inside a pine tree a hundred or so feet from them … the intent was to go after him, but they did not spot him and he left unmolested.

Teaching all day today to photography classes at the high school … first class in not that many hours so will wrap it for the night.

Have a beautiful day and enjoy all the life that surrounds us … you do not have to go further than out of the house to find the joys of nature. Keep breathing and smile, for you are here!

    With joy,

    Ted

Toil, though it brought not what I sought, brought
something, and nursed again to life the withered
    blooms of hope.

The dogmas of the world that bound me to pain I cut,
    as with a knife;

And now I wander freely, taking counsel of my human
nature and the love of my life, lingering where I will,
    denying me nothing.

And through the mist of the world I seem to see again
the God of my youth; but grown older, gentler, and
more compassionate, as I myself am older and more
    compassionate.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
