… to the mountains this weekend … this is a shot I took Thursday morning and it is of the NE portion of the San Francisco Peaks looking across to Kendrick Peak right of center about fifteen miles out. Lockett meadow should be near Peak Color, the north side of the peaks sure are there and likely the west side too. It was one of my quickest flybys of the inner basin ever with an indicated air speed of about 65 kts and a ground track of about 120 kts … yep the winds were about twice predicted at altitude and that was confirmed by another friend who was indicating 130kts and a ground track of 192 kts. I was turning to shoot the N side of the peaks after this photo and about a minute into the new direction I experienced rotor of an epic nature and decided to abandon that task … hoping for better conditions over the weekend.

So really good color and likely peaking this weekend … go enjoy it whilst you can!
Flying in the morning and then heading up to Red Mountain on the ground late morning. Dinner at Relics Dinner Theater in the evening and enjoying the original music of Anthony Mazzella – come for dinner and the show or just the show … hope to see you there.
A little bonus and back Monday Morning
Cheers
Ted
While yet we talk and linger late at parting,
And this say o’er each day as my last words,
Success will come by love and trust and work.
