… if this Cormorant had afterburners it would be leaving flame ten feet behind her, but instead a wall of water is thrust skyward and to the rear as she accelerates down her watery runway and soon rotates and climbs for the stars, at least in my mind she does, probably something a little more simple for her, but it is my mind that determines such things for me and I impute them to her … or him.

Here is a relatively current announcement and state of the color in the Coconino Forest … https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/learning/nature-science/?cid=stelprdb5351327#latest Check it out!

I woke at 5A this morning, did my exercises, grabbed so espresso and checked winds aloft … 37 knots at 12,000’ from 229 … the inner basin would be a very unpleasant place for me to be so I unmade the bed and rolled back in till 7 something AM. Going to shoot for tomorrow morning and hoping for winds 20 knots or lower … alarm set for 5A again.

Anthony Mazzella, will be in concert at Relics Dinner Theater, Saturday night, try to make it as he will be performing his own incredible music … something that down the road and years from now other performers will be performing when they do music of the legends. Here is the number to call and address: Relics Restaurant , 3235 W State Route 89a, Sedona, AZ 86336 Seating for dinner starts at 5:30P and the show begins at 7P. They have good food and if you want the show only option that works too. Hope to see you there and check his website out at: www.anthonymazzella.com  – you’ll be happy you chose to come and see this concert.

Into the weekend and going to try for another early morning flight up to shoot the color … hoping for winds aloft at 12,000’ of 20 kts or less.

Back Monday morning, have a beautiful day today and share a smile with someone you love and also a stranger … bet you get a warm smile back from both, we’re humans after all and nothing beats a warm smile and acknowledgement that we exist …

    Cheers

At nightfall…though I know I shall sometime no more
Open my eyes to the light or day, I am one who looks at stars when
Unchained from the work-bench at Nightfall.
They are a sign that I am not ephemeral,
Not you, nor you, whoever you are.
The dawn comes and the dark and the sign sparkling in the brooding night,
    Forever and forever.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
