… I was enjoying the beach in Huntington Beach and it was a lovely morning. An off shore racing boat came thundering by whilst I sat on the sand and it was an amazing sight to see. Actually there were two of them, but the other one was substantially ahead of this guy. I am looking down the beach into Newport Beach and the pier on the far left is Newport Pier. I love the beach and SoCal, but the traffic is oppressive … thinking it is a better idea to fly into SoCal and renting a car than doing the long drive and ending up in the mess that is traffic in SoCal. I think it was leaving Newport Beach at 1PM and then having a combination of stop and go and slow and go all the way out to Moreno Valley that got to me.

More photos of Malibu and Santa Monica for another day and also the shots I took on an early evening flight Sunday with the low sun on the red rocks, glowing and giving that final burst of beauty before slipping into darkness until morning.

A beautiful new day and week are underway … seek beauty and you will find it … what a way to spend the week !!!

    Cheers and smiles,

    Ted

Though changed as are my songs from youth,
A voice within my heart still sings,
Live thou in tenderness and truth,
And love mankind instead of things.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
