… continue to go through the portfolio and lately more into segregating the super shots into a folder of their own … these are the ones that are unlikely to be captured again and definitely in the top one percent of all time shots. I’ve moved about ten images into the folder now, including the two in this missive … thinking probably no more than a thousand shots will end up in the folder and maybe a lot less.

The photo above is of a couple of wild burros bonding … perhaps just comforting each other with the message that everything will be okay. You can learn more about donkeys here.

Below is a composite I did years ago combining several photographs into one defining the spiritual nature of Sedona … included is a shot of Cathedral Rock taken at Red Rock Crossing, an astro photograph from Hubble and a moon shot I took. I love the challenge of creating a new photo from a collection of unrelated images.

Spare me from bitterness and from the
    sharp passions of unguarded moments.
May I not forget that poverty and riches
are of the spirit, Though the world know me not,
may my thoughts and actions be such as
shall keep me friendly with myself.

    Compassion Has no Party

Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, one truth remains: the vast majority of people on this planet are, at their core, decent. They believe in fairness, in dignity, and in the simple idea that other human beings matter.
