… shadows in the fall and winter seem to align with the rocks and terrain in a more agreeable way than other times of the year and this shot displays that quiet alignment of surface features and shadow. There is a peak of sorts just to the SW of Cockscomb formation casting its shadow to the base of the Cockscomb and Cockscomb casting its shadow nearly to Coffeepot Rock and although its shadow is hidden, it points up to The Sedona Mitten formations. In the upper left corner of the photo is Wilson Mountain and upper right the northerly portion of the airport is visible … west Sedona kinda sprawls over the landscape and the views from most of those homes is wonderful.

A quiet day of sorts and more of the same tomorrow, methinks, and if all goes well a trip up to Lake Mary whilst the living room and hall is painted. The water is getting cold and I am debating between my hip boots and getting a new set of chest waders to do the launch and recovery of “Knot Yacht”. I have the depth finder ready to go now and hope it works … maybe I do not really want to see what is beneath me :+)

Have a beautiful day, celebrate your life and marvel at all that is around you … including other people who are of like mind … share a smile and your delight at being alive!

Don’t forget the joy of watching the sunrise with a triple espresso in hand :+)

    Cheers

For a few hours here in the still morning I wash myself clean of civilization, and purge myself of things and the accumulated rubbish of time.
I push back history, dismiss interpreters, and stand erect before the dawn, looking the universe in the face, and asking my own questions.
Tomorrow I shall return to the human wheels; but now I defy the world of customs and laws, of sophistry and serfdom; and I yield myself childlike
to the light and the air and the sweet scented dew.

    Compassion Has no Party

Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, one truth remains: the vast majority of people on this planet are, at their core, decent. They believe in fairness, in dignity, and in the simple idea that other human beings matter.
