… seems like a good way to close the week out … a touch of dreamy and abstract with a flower that had been placed on a stone in the middle of a small pond and had been there perhaps a little longer than it should have been. Seemed like a good idea to restore a modicum of beauty to it before it totally slipped away. I took the shot at one of the gardens I visited in the Bay area in March. I do enjoy shooting flowers a lot, but have not been doing as much of it as I should.

A beautiful day and though I’m not sure what, I think I accomplished a lot … I also took time out to spend with a friend who has just moved back to Sedona … some time out on the grass with One who is now less than enthusiastic about completing a hunt. She loves the chase, but with the door to the house closed now she isn’t all that interested in the kill … no house to let it loose in and play with before completing the event. I do enjoy being a human and having the wonderful division of labor we have established … others kill, clean and butcher the critters for me and I simply buy the packaged meat and cook it.

Busy rest of the week coming up so will wrap the day and get some rest before the day begins again with a lot of great espresso. Adventures to be lived … breaths to take and smiles to form.

    Go for it!

    Ted

… hold high your head and be an honest man.
May kindness guide your daily steps, and in each deed and thought
Let Christ’s sweet soul always reflect itself,
And love your fellow men as I love you.
May words unkind and false ne’er pass your lips,
Nor harsh and low ambitions drive you on.

    Analyzing City’s Legal Right to
    Ban OHVs on Public Roads

    By Tommy Acosta
Mea Culpa! Mea Culpa! Mea Maxima Culpa! I screwed up. Blew it. Totally made a fool of myself. Missed the boat. I am talking about my editorial on the OHV fight, No Legal Traction on OHVs. I assumed that it was ADOT that would make a decision on whether the city could legally ban off road vehicles from our public roads like S.R. 89A and S.R. 179. Man was I off. ADOT has nothing to do with allowing or disallowing the city to do so. ADOT’s response to me when I asked them to clarify their position, was curt and to the point. “ADOT designs, builds and maintains the state highway system,” I was told. “It is not our place to offer an opinion on how state law might apply in this matter.” It was a totally “duh” moment for me when I realized that that the decision or judgement on the OHV ordinance, would involve the state and not ADOT. Chagrinned I stand. The crux of the matter then is whether the city can effectively use a number of standing state laws that can be interpreted to determine whether the city can legally ban the vehicles or not.
