    … there are more than 400 species of birds in Yavapai/Coconino Counties and they range from the very small like the Vermilion Fly Catcher above to the Common Black Hawk below … roughly half an ounce for the fly catcher to nearly two pounds for the Common Black Hawk. Both are incredibly beautiful birds and assigned very different species to feed on and help keep in check.

    Spent the morning down at the ponds this morning with a friend and although I got a variety of shots, nothing worth keeping … both of these photos were shot at the Ponds, but on days past. I only keep photos that are as good as or better than anything I have shot previously … so although many of the shots were nice, they have been released to the universe, but the memory of shooting the Ponds with a friend on a beautiful morning remains!

    Have an absolutely beautiful day today … keep breathing, share a smile with someone and be kind … your choice, each and every day!

    Cheers,

    Ted

    Give me to gladly go
    My way
    And say
    No word of mine own woe;
    But let me smile each day.

    Give me the strength to do
    My task
    I ask;
    And that I shall not rue
    The toiler’s grimy mask.

    Give one loved hand to me
    And leave
    The eve
    All undisturbed as we
    Our strength of souls retrieve.

    And lastly give sweet sleep,
    Closed sight,
    No fright
    That fears will o’er me creep;
    And now a sweet good-night.
