… I was talking with a friend in California today and I was made aware that ducks were the special images that were prized and herons a close second … and I was reminded that I have not sent out a duck image for some time … so here is a very special shot of a pair of mallards taking off near the granite boulders in Watson Lake. My shooting tends to go in streaks and since I have not been on a lake for a while I have not been shooting any ducks. So this is for you Terri and everyone else who enjoys great waterfowl photographs.

It was a super day today and I am back in the habit of cutting for at least two hours a day; will be finishing off two gold in quartz gems tomorrow along with two gem silica (chrysacolla) cabs. I haven’t shot any gems for a long time so think I will shoot a few tomorrow and send one of them out tomorrow evening … out comes the tripod, lighting, reflectors and all the other good stuff. That’s what dining room tables are for!

A promo for my book. Just a Moment … in Time : through the eyes, lens and mind of Ted Grussing. The book is available on Amazon at:https://www.amazon.com/Just-Moment-Time-through-Grussing/dp/0578488442/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=ted+grussing&qid=1558424212&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull Everyone who has purchased a copy tells me that they enjoy it. so check it out for yourself.

Time to wrap the day … some sleep then espresso and the day will be off and running.

Smile, keep breathing and make someone else’s day a great day today … frequently a smile will do the trick.

    Cheers

    Ted

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
