… a common trait among all species is the need to provide shelter and a place to raise a family. In the shot above a Great Blue Heron is bringing in a load of sticks to assist in the construction of or remodeling of a previous home (nest) … it take a lot of trips, but when they devote their energies to it within a few days they will complete the project. This nest is at Lake Pleasant and a rookery of enormous proportions which I found a few years ago as I explored the shoreline of the lake. Typically we will cruise about thirty miles or so of shoreline at the north end of the lake.

Below is a Double Crested Cormorant in breeding plumage as he rockets down the watery runway before him … I love those beautiful turquoise eyes and the long eyebrows he is sporting.

Into a new week with new beginnings and opportunities … same story each and every day, so live! Keep breathing and smiling and share the joy you find in life with those you meet and greet each day!

    Cheers,

    Ted

    Will future generations understand
The turmoil of these days, the strain and stress
The dawn’s despair, the night’s uneasiness,
The greed of itching palms throughout the land?
Will they conceive the fires fanatics fanned,
    Of time the universal wastefulness,
The strange philosophies the mobs confess
That every throat cry out some new demand?

Time was when men held saner counsel here.
Will that time come again? Shall we ehold
From this grim madness some new love unfold?
We pray for gentler times, when men shall cease
His brother man to bully or to fear.
Great God, among ourselves let us have peace!

    Does it Really Matter?

Does it matter if life is illusory or real, if this a material world like most everyone thinks or a dream? It looks and feels real, it offers sensations and feelings that attest to its realness.
