By Ted Grussing
… another incredible day on Lake Pleasant … left home around 6:30 and launched about 8:30 … hit the places we knew to be good and then began more exploration. On one little sandspit there were more than 200 Avocets on the shore and a passing boat spooked them into flight. They took off, flew in very tight formation and performed close formation aerobatics for several minutes before coming back in to land at the very same spot they took off from. I got a hundred or so shots of them and this is one of the shots I liked the best … they are now in their winter plumage and I’m hoping that they spend the winter on the lake so that I can continue to get more shots of them in flight. A link to learn more about this beautiful shorebird is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
A wrap on a very long but wonderful day … smile … make and live your day.
Cheers
Ted
