… about fifteen years ago I did a composite using a Hubble shot and a backlighted squirrel in a tree on the seventeenth tee box of Oak Creek Country Club … I called him Astro Squirrel … I did it on a whim and tonight I found a photo I took a month or so ago and now have an astro composite with a male cardinal in the Pinion Pine in the backyard … Astro Red! Fun to create images like this again.
The image below is an aerial shot looking to the NNE from the SE end of the San Francisco Peaks … I love the flow of the snow lines on the side of the mountain … the small peak on the right side near the top is O’Leary Peak and to the left of it you can see US 89 heading north onto the Colorado Plateau and cutting through the San Francisco Volcanic Field while crossing the NW end of the Painted Desert.
First email of 2025 … it is going to be a great year!
Cheers,
Ted
I bring but this one common thought
My life has wrought;
That from the dregs of drear despair
Still everywhere
There is a joy I yet may sip—
‘Tis comradeship
With all mankind, the high and low
I know.
