    … will we journey next? This seems to be the question that One is pondering as she gazes out into the firmament while snuggled safe in her shelter … where in this infinite universe among infinite universes shall our journey take us?

    A three image composite and the tree trunk came from one of my favorite places … Sunset Crater … it has some of the most beautiful wood I have ever seen, taking on the appearance of creatures, shamans and mysteries of the ages abounding in this area of relatively recent volcanic activity. If you want to shoot them for use in composites, this is a good time to get the shots as with snow it is easier to separate them from their backgrounds.

    Not sure what I’ll be doing next week, by way of subject matter, but come Monday morning an image will arrive … have a beautiful rest of the week and weekend. Give thanks that you can share your journey with others and smile … there is so much out there and we are so very small …

    My friend Joanne Julian is opening a new exhibit of her art at the Carnegie Art Museum, in Oxnard, California, with an opening reception on March 11th between the hours of 4P – 6P; the exhibit opens on the 12th and runs through May 21st . Joanne’s art is phenomenal and well worth the trip over to see it. More information is available on the website at: http://www.carnegieam.org/ and Joanne’s website is: http://www.joannejulian.com/ .

    Smiling … back Monday

    Impose upon yourself the task of happiness;
    And now and then abandon yourself
    To the joy of laughter.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

    One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
