… watching movies on aviation topics always seems to grab me and fortunately I have a portfolio of tens of thousands of photographs that I took whilst flying. The shot above shows the Village underneath low lying clouds and the beauty of the red rocks as you look north towards Sedona … directly above the village is the wilderness area and the Chapel area above that … Sedona itself is under the blanket of white. Above the clouds was the never ending cloudscape consisting of cloud canyons and mountains … a place disconnected from the world below and a world of white capped by the illimitable blue sky that stretches out into space and the vast unknown.

Below is a shot of a great blue heron that I shot as he rolled out and departed the area last Friday. I look for form and sweeping beauty in the birds I shoot … magnificent creatures that we share the planet with.

A fun and busy day … good to be making progress on the portfolio. The website is kinda pathetic and work is soon to begin to remedy that. In the interim, if you see a photo you would like, email me and we’ll get you taken care of.

Have a beautiful day, keep breathing and keep sharing the wonders that come into your life daily … you are here! Give thanks!

    Smiles,

    Ted

    When age has come, to-morrow
You’ll speak with God to leave some kindly deeds
Writ by your name that softened selfish creeds
Of man’s slow moving love of brotherhood,
That brought new hope to them who near you stood
In life’s dark streets or sunlit meads.
To-morrow you’ll ask God for better deed.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
