… I took this shot Friday from the airport before I headed back down the mesa and home. The sky was alive and snow showers everywhere … and as I hoped, holes in the clouds for rays of sun to come through and create a magical scene. Since then I have been pretty much indoors … cleaning carpet, rearranging and adding furniture, getting a bunch of stuff ready to donate to a charity and after nearly 25 years without use I have found an excellent function for my fireplace and hearth … it now hosts my new 65” Qled Samsung television set. Many more changes underway in the house as I try to complete all the projects by January 1st 2020.

Also I am beginning to shift my email from the computer specific MS Office Outlook app, to my email servers on Network Solutions. Beginning in January I am going to start shifting my contacts to the cloud and hopefully within six months the transition will be complete … this will simplify life as I can utilize the common calendar, contact, and email program with all of my devices. It is going to be difficult, but methinks, worth it!

More carpet cleaning in the morning and then a day of other inside work. Maybe sneak out to Senor Bob’s for a cheeseburger combo … an excellent way to bring a smile to the afternoon. A cheeseburger on homemade buns with all the fixings plus two scoops of chili added to it, French fries from fresh potatoes also smothered in chili … fortunately I have prepaid at Greer’s.

Have a beautiful day and find a way to smile a lot … keep breathing and I’ll be back Tuesday morning. What a terrific year this is and has been.

    Cheers

Everything is still, and the soft night air is cool.
… the moon is passing in and out of the clouds, making
a shadow-checkered day of the night, and breaking the sky with shafts of gold.
All silent, the universe is doing its work — beautiful, mysterious, religious.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
