… today was the day to spend on the lake and it was a beautiful one! My friend was unable to go down with me, so I slept in for a while and left for the lake about 6:45A and on the water by 8:45. Kinda late to get the early morning birds, but a quiet day in the sun and warmer temperatures seemed like the thing to do today and getting great photographs was the secondary mission.

Within the first hour I had seen a redtail hawk, peregrine falcon, egrets and herons, but because of the distance, not a shot worth keeping. A little later I hooked up with a coyote that was cruising the shoreline looking for food. I followed him for a couple miles and then he went up on a ridgeline and we have the photo above … a beautiful lady!

The image below was one of the early shots today and is of a Clarke’s Grebe that had just caught a breakfast treat … a few seconds of getting it aligned properly and then down the hatch!

All in all, it was a fabulous day and I spent around five hours on the water … didn’t feel much like getting off, but I did and then the drive home and a warm welcome from Katie as I came in the door … a perfect finish … dinner and now beginning to go through the day’s shots.

Have a beautiful day, keep breathing, smiling and sharing the joy you find in life!

    Cheers,

    Ted

I am the dawn, the whisper of winds, the perfume
    of morning.

The passing night fondled me, hovering close to me,
    softly, silently.

The breaking day builds the spirit temple of my joy.
    I abandon myself!

It seems to me that never before have I walked with
the spirit as now, nor overcome space, time, and the
elements as I overcome them now.

    Does it Really Matter?

Does it matter if life is illusory or real, if this a material world like most everyone thinks or a dream? It looks and feels real, it offers sensations and feelings that attest to its realness.
