Sedona News – Twenty-six local area breweries, wineries and restaurants have teamed up with the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund (SRRTF) for the first-ever fundraising event called Toast the Trails Week. Designed to attract locals and visitors alike, each participating establishment will offer a unique menu item (drink or food) from October 12-19th, with a fixed amount of each sale going to the SRRTF to care for the Red Rock trails.

Then, capping Toast the Trails Week, on Saturday, October 19th – SRRTF volunteers will be supporting the City of Sedona’s Fest of Fall beer garden at the Posse Grounds from 1-8pm. A percentage of proceeds from the beer sales will go to the Trail Fund.

According to SRRTF Director Dreama Aldredge, “We had a vision of a special event for the Fall when everyone gets excited about returning to outdoor activity. With the explosion of so many amazing wineries, breweries and distilleries, the idea of pairing the great outdoors with refreshment, relaxation and socializing excited us. The Verde Valley Wine Consortium cheered us on, and we came up with an event that would be a little adventuresome and give people a fun way to contribute to the care of our trails with a delicious purchase.”

When asked about their decision to participate, Allyn Backus, manager of Smelter Town Brewery in Clarkdale said, “We chose to be a sponsor of Toast the Trails because we recognize the importance of keeping our landscapes and environment as healthy as possible. We want to extend the life of these trail systems because they are valued by locals and tourists alike.”

The list of participating businesses is representative of the entire Verde Valley. The offerings are across the board – a morning “power up” from Sedonuts on 89A in Sedona, to wine tasting rooms across the Valley, to a Red Rock view you’ll never forget at Sky Rock Sedona’s WooWoo Bar, and swanky cocktails at the elegant Ambiente forty1.

The Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund gathers donations to maintain and enhance the non-motorized National Forest trails in the greater Sedona area, and educates the public regarding their use and management. With the support of residents, businesses, government entities and non-profits, the SRRTF has raised in excess of $3.5 million since 2014. SRRTF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and an official partner of the US Forest Service Red Rock Ranger District. Learn more at redrocktrailfund.org.
