logo_tlaqtoytownSedona AZ (January 15, 2016) – Tlaquepaque Toy Town will be celebrating the eARThflows project on January 23 and 24 from 2-4 p.m. each day with a series of eco-friendly hands on projects created by TLAQ Toytown that bring awareness of the planet and our limited resources. Three projects have been developed to suit children of all ages for this earth-awareness event that will take place in the Patio de las Campanas directly below TLAQ Toytown.

logo_earthflowsActivities planned are as easy as adorning a pencil with yarn remnants and feathers to making a special valentine that begins with recycled cardboard hearts. They will be embellished by bits and pieces of everyday objects such as recycled colorful magazine pages, glitter glues, beads and papers to add some sparkle and life to the cardboard.  All materials for this project have served their primary purpose and are waiting for someone to upcycle them into a unique Valentine for someone special in their life.

While the projects are geared towards children, all visitors are welcome to participate in these fun projects.

The overarching theme is for participants to Make your Mark at the event.  A large poster board on one of the tables will ask the question “If you could do one thing to make the planet earth a better place to live – what would it be?”  Everyone visiting the project area will be asked to make their mark and write on the board something that they will personally do to honor the earth and make a change in their life to contribute to a healthier planet.

These events have been developed to help educate children and the public about sustainability issues while they are enjoying fun art projects that embrace repurposing materials.
