Michael Turner a Made In Clarkdale Artist at the “Corner Gallery”

logo_madeinclarkdaleClarkdale AZ (August 27, 2013) – Over 100 art enthusiasts enjoyed the Grand Opening of Michael Turner’s Solo Show in Made In Clarkdale’s “Corner Gallery” on August 16th. It was a time to connect with Michael and his support team of loving wife Crystal, his son and his grandchildren who were there to witness the evolutionary success of years of creativity. Most who attended knew of Michael’s work with Mylar, an interesting visual material from his work exhibited in the annual Made In Clarkdale Art Shows each December. But in general few were aware of his talents with paint and canvases which were also impressive appreciated. Being able to personally connect with the artist and hear the journey and inspiration first hand increased the appreciation of the viewing… apparent by the sales of three of his key pieces. What a thrill to be recognized with the gift of collectors collecting!

As Made In Clarkdale events have come to be known as wonderful community events, a time to meet your neighbors and catch up over new conversation and share inspired impressions of your friends’ creativity, this show followed in that tradition.

20130827_mic1Corner Gallery plans 3-4 shows per year as the year round presence of Made In Clarkdale, enhancing artist showing opportunity and sharing the talent of over 60+ local artisans with their community following. Plan to stop by for “This and That”, there’s still plenty of time to see the variety of selections of Michael Turner’s work, along with other Made In Clarkdale artists – Mary Liggett and Barbara Pierce. “This and That” remains in place and open through October 4th with Gallery hours Wed-Fri 10a-4p and Sat & Sun 10a-1p, evening hours planned for Friday and Saturdays. The show follows in the tradition of all Made In Clarkdale events, which have come to be known as wonderful community events, a time to meet your neighbors and catch up over new conversation and share inspired impressions of local artists’ creativity.

And… remember to save the date of December 6,2013 for the favorite community event, Made In Clarkdale Art Show Gala Opening held from 6pm – 9pm at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse at 9th & Main in Historic Clarkdale, AZ.

I was talking to the Sedona.biz publisher/editor the other day, Tommy Acosta, and learned that our common friend Fernando Rivera of North Carolina passed away. It was reported that life and time caught him and then overcame him, and his heart quietly and suddenly failed.
