This unique partnership establishes an unparalleled training program that provides participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills essential for navigating the complex world of intellectual property. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will gain expertise in both patents and trademarks through an intensive curriculum divided into two eight-week segments. The patent training equips students with a deep understanding of the patenting process, strategies for innovation protection, and the role of patents in fostering technological advancements. The trademark training offers critical insights into brand protection, trademark registration, and enforcement.

    A Groundbreaking Achievement

The collaboration with the USPTO underscores the REDC’s commitment to fostering economic growth, empowering entrepreneurs, and providing cutting-edge educational opportunities. By becoming the first college to partner with the nation’s leading authority on intellectual property, the REDC at Yavapai College is solidifying its role as a trailblazer in education and regional economic development. This initiative not only enhances the skills of participants but also strengthens the local and national economy by equipping innovators, business owners, and community leaders with the tools to protect and commercialize their ideas effectively.

    Statement from Leadership

It’s a game-changer for launching innovative ventures and driving economic growth in our community.”
