Sedona News – The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) of Sedona proudly hosted the Spirit of Philanthropy Awards on April 6 in Cottonwood, Ariz. For 24 years, this beloved event has brought together community members to honor individual philanthropists, nonprofit organizations and businesses whose generosity and service enhance the quality of life in Sedona and the Verde Valley.

Over the past two decades, 117 philanthropists and organizations have been recognized for their outstanding contributions. This year, five awards were presented, honoring the leadership, dedication and lasting impact of those who are making a difference in the lives of others throughout the region.

    The 2025 award recipients include:

    Sedona Gift Shop

    • Business Benefactor of the Year: Jeff Dissinger, owner of Digitech Sedona
    • Community Collaborator of the Year: Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund
    • Nonprofit of the Year: Sedona Community Food Bank
    • Philanthropist of the Year: Basil Maher
    • Volunteer of the Year: Stephanie Giesbrecht

All award recipients were nominated by community members for their category and evaluated by the ACF of Sedona Spirit Nominating Committee based on their impact in the community.

“This annual event is a valued tradition that honors the dedication and hard work behind the thriving philanthropic community in Sedona and the Verde Valley,” says Anna María Chávez, President and CEO of the Arizona Community Foundation. “By working together as nonprofits, individuals and businesses in a collaborative effort, we are making a wider, stronger impact on those who need us most. Congratulations to all the award recipients this year. Thank you for everything you do!”
