Sedona AZ (August 31, 2021) – Yavapai County is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan to cover the next 10 years. This critical document will guide the Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as County Supervisors as they consider development proposals over the next decade.
If you are not yet familiar with the process for updating the Comprehensive Plan, click here for an explanation.
By law the County must include a section in their Comprehensive Plan covering the Cost of Development. The law states that the Comprehensive Plan must document “policies and strategies that the county will use to require development to pay its fair share toward the cost of additional public facility needs generated by new development, with appropriate exceptions when in the public interest.” These payments are called impact fees.
To help understand the priorities of the residents of Yavapai County, Keep Sedona Beautiful created a Cost of Development survey that we would appreciate your completing. We will share the survey results with the County.
