May 31, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Community Library Sedona’s Community Room

Sedona, AZ — Sedona’s Tools Empowering People (STEP), the Community Library, Sedona, and the Sedona Sustainability Department are collaborating in a fix-it clinic on Friday, May 31, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Community Library Sedona’s Community Room.  The clinic offers opportunities to repair items that otherwise would be discarded. Tools from the STEP inventory will be used and volunteers will help with simple repairs. Everyone is highly encouraged to sign up for a time slot at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054FA8A82AA2F8C07-56502184-fixitclinic#/.  Walk in assistance is not guaranteed.

STEP brings the community together through sharing of tools.  STEP is based on principles and practices of resource-use reduction, sharing, conviviality, solidarity, and mutual aid.  By providing a venue to share tools in the community, STEP contributes to a circular economy in Sedona.  Community members can borrow or donate tools to the program. Volunteers are welcome to join the STEP team and the global movement to reduce waste and put underused tools to work.

STEP is sponsored by Northern Arizona Climate Change Alliance (NAZCCA) and the Sedona Public Library and is a recipient of grant funding from the City of Sedona Small Grants Program. For more information visit https://www.nazcca.org/tool-library or contact step.tool.library@gmail.com.

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
